Jakarta, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 \u2013<\/strong> S-1 Communication Science students from Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) took active part in The National Counter Terrorism Agency (BNPT), in collaboration with the Forum for the Coordination of Terrorism Prevention (FKPT) of West Nusa Tenggara, successfully held an inspiring event titled \u201cMenuju Terang: Memahami Terorisme Lewat Empati Digital\u201d on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Hotel Harper Harmoni 7 by Aston MT. Haryono, Cawang. The hybrid event engaged students from various regions online, with the standout active involvement of S-1 Communication Science students from Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), batch 2023 and 2024 attending in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event aimed to promote awareness and prevention of radicalism through a digital empathy approach. It featured insightful discussion sessions and a powerful video screening portraying real victims of terrorism, deepening participants\u2019 understanding of the real and human impact of radicalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniquely, the UNJ Communication students were much more than attendees. They actively engaged in the Q&A sessions and played a vital role as Masters of Ceremony throughout the event. Their involvement showcased young people\u2019s strong public communication skills and their enthusiastic participation in the collective effort to combat radical ideologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Rane Hafied Gany, the host and talk show moderator, guiding interactive discussions and encouraging active audience participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahid, M.Ag., M.Pd., Head of Youth and Education Division at FKPT West Nusa Tenggara, who delivered a keynote speech highlighting how radical ideologies often spread unnoticed within communities and emphasized the critical role of digital empathy in prevention efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the video screening session, participants were invited to witness and empathize with the true stories of terrorism victims, fostering compassion that is essential in undermining the spread of radicalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event stands as a testament to the strong synergy between BNPT, FKPT NTB, and higher education institutions in building societal resilience against the threat of terrorism through educational and participatory approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR, Coordinator of the S-1 Communication Science Program at UNJ, expressed her pride, “Thank you to BNPT and FKPT NTB for trusting us once again by involving our students in an event that enhances their skills and competencies. Hopefully, we can establish a partnership in the form of an MoA and IA in the near future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
