Jakarta, October 2025<\/strong> \u2014 S-1 Communication Science <\/em>UNJ <\/em>proudly joins the university community in celebrating UNJ\u2019s historic debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2026<\/strong>. For the first time, UNJ has been ranked 13th nationally among the 24 PTNBH (State Universities with Legal Entity Status)<\/strong> included in the assessment, and placed in the 1501+ global category<\/strong>, marking a significant milestone in UNJ\u2019s international recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The THE WUR<\/strong> is widely regarded as one of the world\u2019s most credible benchmarks for assessing university performance. It evaluates institutions based on 18 indicators<\/strong> grouped into five key pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Industry Income.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNJ achieved an overall score between 10.3 and 27.2 across these five pillars. In detail, the Teaching pillar scored 21.2, reflecting a strong learning environment. The Research Environment scored 11.2, indicating a positive increase in research volume, income, and reputation. The Research Quality score of 23.2 shows that UNJ\u2019s research outputs are gaining international recognition. The Industry Income score of 16.0 highlights UNJ\u2019s growing collaborations with the industrial sector, while the International Outlook score of 21.2 demonstrates the university\u2019s efforts to strengthen its global engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To qualify for THE WUR, participating universities must have at least 1,000 scholarly publications between 2020 and 2024 and must offer undergraduate-level education. The ranking system is widely trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industries, and governments as the most comprehensive global comparison of university performance. The use of standardized data ensures that each indicator reflects the university\u2019s true capacity objectively, free from geographic or economic bias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 rankings were officially released in October 2025 and are labeled as \u201cWorld University Rankings 2026\u201d because they refer to the upcoming academic year, even though the announcement was made this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this important occasion, the Head of the Undergraduate Communication Science Program was invited to share insights on how this achievement could influence the improvement of educational quality at the program level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNJ Rector Prof. Komarudin expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the entire UNJ academic community for this monumental accomplishment. He emphasized that UNJ\u2019s debut in THE WUR 2026 is not only a recognition of quality but also a motivation to keep moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Prof. Fahrurrozi, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Information Systems, stated that this momentum should be maintained by maximizing research potential and strengthening international collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coordinator of S-1 Communication Science UNJ, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR.<\/strong>, expresses her feelings \u201cWe are proud of UNJ’s achievement in the WUR index, which is slowly but surely moving up in the rankings. Alhamdulillah, S-1 Communication Science is also included in this ranking as a contributor to this index.\u201d
UNJ\u2019s success in entering THE WUR 2026<\/strong> marks a pivotal step toward strengthening Indonesia\u2019s higher education reputation on the global stage.
