{"id":2888,"date":"2025-11-01T01:53:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-01T01:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fis.unj.ac.id\/ikom\/?p=2888"},"modified":"2025-11-01T01:53:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-01T01:53:10","slug":"s-1-communication-science-unj-students-participate-in-australia-update-2025-deepening-indonesia-australia-cooperation-through-the-education-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fis.unj.ac.id\/ikom\/?p=2888","title":{"rendered":"S-1 Communication Science UNJ Students Participate in \u201cAustralia Update 2025: Deepening Indonesia\u2013Australia Cooperation Through the Education Sector\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1126\" height=\"634\" src=\"https:\/\/fis.unj.ac.id\/ikom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/australia-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2889\" style=\"width:827px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Jakarta, October 26, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 <em>S-1 Communication Science, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ)<\/em> participated in <strong>Australia Update 2025<\/strong>, themed <em>\u201cDeepening Indonesia\u2013Australia Cooperation Through the Education Sector.\u201d<\/em> The event was held on <strong>Tuesday, October 14, 2025<\/strong>, at <strong>Latief Hendraningrat Hall, Dewi Sartika Building, UNJ<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>UNJ<\/strong> and the <strong>Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia for Australia and Vanuatu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Running from <strong>08:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (WIB)<\/strong>, the event served as a strategic forum to strengthen bilateral relations between <strong>Indonesia and Australia<\/strong>, focusing on cooperation in education, research, and academic exchange. Students from the <strong>2023 cohort of S-1 Communication Science UNJ<\/strong> attended as official delegates, actively engaging in discussions, documentation, and observations throughout the forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Distinguished guests included <strong>H.E. Siswo Pramono<\/strong>, Ambassador of Indonesia to Australia and Vanuatu, and <strong>H.E. Dr. Roderick Brazier<\/strong>, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia. Both emphasized the need to deepen people-to-people and educational ties between the two countries through collaborative learning and student exchange programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his opening remarks, <strong>UNJ Rector Prof. Komarudin<\/strong> stated that student participation in international forums reflects UNJ\u2019s ongoing commitment to academic internationalization. <em>\u201cUNJ consistently encourages students to be part of global knowledge exchange and cross-cultural engagement,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Coordinator of S-1 Communication Science UNJ, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., expresses her feelings, \u201cMay the UNJ Communication Science Undergraduate Program establish partnerships with universities in Australia, ranging from student exchanges, academic programs, curriculum innovation, research collaboration, and capacity building for the program as an internationally renowned program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the student delegates shared that the event provided valuable lessons in <strong>intercultural communication<\/strong> and <strong>media diplomacy<\/strong>, stating, <em>\u201cWe learned that diplomacy isn\u2019t limited to formal politics it\u2019s also built through communication among individuals, institutions, and cultures.\u201d<\/em> Through their participation in <strong>Australia Update 2025<\/strong>, S-1 Communication Science UNJ students gained firsthand insights into Indonesia\u2013Australia bilateral relations and the vital role of communication in shaping effective and sustainable international partnerships.
