THESIS AND INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES

THESIS GUIDELINES

As they approach the culmination of their academic journey, undergraduate students enrolled in the Sociology Study Program within the Faculty of Social Sciences at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) embark on a pivotal undertaking the thesis project. This project stands as a cornerstone of their graduation requirements, demanding not just the theoretical knowledge they’ve amassed but also the honed skills of critical thinking and research. It’s a chance for them to delve into the complexities of the social world, grappling with real-world issues and challenges that impact our communities and society at large. Through rigorous research and analysis, students are empowered to propose innovative solutions and contribute their unique perspectives to the ever-evolving field of sociology. The thesis project becomes a platform for them to not only demonstrate their intellectual growth but also to translate their sociological understanding into practical application. This capstone experience serves as a bridge between the theoretical and the real, fostering a generation of critical thinkers and engaged social scientists prepared to make a meaningful impact on the world.

INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES

The Sociology Department plays a crucial role in facilitating communication between students and internship institutions, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all parties involved. Finally, internship institutions are expected to provide students with meaningful work experiences that align with their academic background and career aspirations.

Through this collaborative approach, the internship program fosters the development of well-rounded sociologists who are not only equipped with theoretical knowledge but also possess the practical skills necessary to thrive in the professional world. It provides a valuable platform for students to contribute to the field of sociology while simultaneously forging connections with potential employers and collaborators. Ultimately, the internship program serves as a cornerstone in the education of UNJ Sociology students, preparing them to become future leaders and engaged citizens within the ever-evolving social landscape.

An integral part of the internship experience is the completion of a comprehensive internship report. This report serves as a formal documentation of the student’s progress throughout the internship period. It allows students to reflect on their experiences, analyze the practical applications of sociological principles they encountered, and showcase the skills they developed during their internship. The Sociology Department provides guidelines and support to ensure students produce high-quality reports that effectively demonstrate their learning and growth.
