Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum (FISH) Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) kembali menunjukkan semangat inklusif dalam kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Lapangan (KKL) di Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Salah satu momen paling inspiratif datang dari Tion Iswanto, mahasiswa difabel netra angkatan 2022, yang aktif mengikuti kegiatan dialog dan observasi institusi pendidikan Islam di kawasan Blokagung, Banyuwangi.
Bertempat di Universitas KH Mukhtar Syafaat (UIMSYA), para mahasiswa PAI UNJ berdialog dengan para dosen dan pimpinan UIMSYA, Ahad 25 Mei 2025 dalam kegiatan bertema “Tantangan dan Peluang Pengelolaan Institusi Pendidikan Islam di Banyuwangi dalam Menghadapi Modernisasi.” Kegiatan ini menjadi bagian dari rangkaian KKL yang dirancang untuk mengkaji fenomena-fenomena aktual dalam pendidikan Islam di era transformasi digital dan sosial.
Dalam paparannya, Dr. Siti Aimah, S.Pd.I., M.Si., Dekan Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIMSYA, menyampaikan pendekatan khas UIMSYA yang menyinergikan model pendidikan pesantren dan perguruan tinggi. “Santri di sini tidak hanya menguasai ilmu agama, tetapi juga dilatih untuk tampil di publik, berdakwah, dan mengelola teknologi secara bertanggung jawab,” ujarnya.
Yang menarik, UIMSYA telah sejak lama membuka diri terhadap mahasiswa dengan kebutuhan khusus. “Sebelum adanya UU No. 8 Tahun 2016, kami sudah menerima santri difabel sebagai bagian dari komunitas kampus. Kami percaya setiap individu memiliki potensi untuk berkembang,” tegas Dr. Aimah saat menjawab pertanyaan dari Tion Iswanto, mahasiswa tunanetra dari UNJ.
Sambutan positif juga datang dari Koordinator Prodi PAI UNJ, Dr. Sari Narulita, Lc., M.Si., yang hadir sebagai narasumber pada kegiatan tersebut. Dalam paparannya, beliau menyampaikan komitmen Prodi PAI UNJ dalam mewujudkan kampus ramah difabel. “Di UNJ, kami terus berupaya menciptakan sistem pembelajaran dan lingkungan kampus yang inklusif, memperkuat kemandirian, dan menumbuhkan semangat religiusitas mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang, termasuk penyandang disabilitas,” ungkapnya.
Sebagai bentuk apresiasi, Dr. Sari meminta Tion berdiri dan memperkenalkan dirinya sebagai mahasiswa aktif yang mengikuti KKL bersama mahasiswa lainnya. “Semangat seperti Tion inilah yang mencerminkan wajah pendidikan Islam masa depan—inklusif, tangguh, dan berdaya,” tambah beliau.
Pengalaman ini menjadi bukti bahwa mahasiswa PAI UNJ tidak hanya mengkaji teori inklusivitas, tetapi juga menghayatinya dalam praktik nyata. Bagi Tion Iswanto, pengalaman ini menjadi momentum penting untuk menunjukkan bahwa keterbatasan bukanlah halangan untuk belajar, bertumbuh, dan berkontribusi.
“Saya merasa didengar dan diterima. Ini bukan hanya tentang saya, tapi tentang mimpi banyak mahasiswa difabel lain yang ingin kuliah dan berkembang bersama,” tulis Tion dalam refleksi akhirnya.
Prodi PAI UNJ berkomitmen untuk terus mendampingi, memfasilitasi, dan memberdayakan seluruh mahasiswanya, tanpa kecuali. Karena pendidikan yang memanusiakan dan merangkul semua adalah esensi dari nilai Islam yang rahmatan lil ‘alamin.
