After the Covid-19 pandemic, the Faculty of Social Sciences of Jakarta State University (FIS UNJ) together with Leipzig University, Germany and Brawijaya University held an activity “Taking Perspectives: “Higher Education Dialogue with the Muslim World”.
For information, this activity has been going on since 2010 and has had several name changes such as “Join Summer Program”, “Law and Culture”, and now “Taking Perspective”.
This program is funded by the German Academic Exchange Institute or Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD).
“Taking Perspectives: Higher Education Dialogue with the Muslim World” consisted of several activities. The first activity was held on June 18-29, 2023 in the city of Leipzig, Germany.
The activities were organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Leipzig, Germany under the coordination of Prof. Christoph Enders and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of Leipzig, Germany under the coordination of Prof. Thomas Schmidt-Lux.
In addition to activities at the University of Leipzig, Germany, activities will continue at UNJ on October 28, 2023 to November 1, 2023.
Then the event will continue at Brawijaya University Malang from November 2-6, 2023. The cooperation between FIS UNJ, Leipzig University, Germany and Brawijaya University aims to improve the ability to understand and take perspectives in the context of theoretical education from the theme of the activity as well as methodological integration in the discipline and strengthen its presence in the academic context.
In addition, this activity is also an internationalization program of FIS UNJ in order to achieve World Class University.
For this year 2023, FIS UNJ sent three lecturers consisting of;
- Heryanti Utami (Tourism Services Business Study Program FIS UNJ)
- Rihlah Nur Aulia (Islamic Religious Education Study Program FIS UNJ)
- Nada Arina Romli (Communication Science Study Program FIS UNJ)
In addition to lecturers, several students also participated in this activity namely;
- Lyzia Nabilla (Geography Study Program, FIS UNJ)
- Tamaya Cethsa Gloria Untailawan (Tourism Services Business Study Program FIS UNJ)
- Amelia Azani Noor Daulay (Sociology Study Program FIS UNJ)
- Raghyl Syifa Sayidina (Communication Science Study Program FIS UNJ).
Knowledge and cultural exchange
Higher Education Dialogue with the Muslim World” who is also a lecturer in the Tourism Services Business Study Program of FIS UNJ Heryanti Utami in an official release (3/7/2023) emphasized that this activity is a collaboration that has been going on since 2010.
“This activity is part of the exchange of knowledge, culture, and experience between the academic community of FIS UNJ and the academic community of Leipzig University, Germany and Brawijaya University,” said Heryanti Utami. “This activity also opens a wider network that can support other international programs,” added Heryanti Utami.
Dean of FIS UNJ Prof. Sarkadi added that the leadership of FIS UNJ is very supportive of this international academic activity.
“The cooperation program between FIS UNJ with Leipzig University, Germany and Brawijaya University must continue every year, because this is one of the excellent international programs in FIS UNJ,” said Prof. Sarkadi.
FIS UNJ’s international activities also received appreciation from UNJ Rector Prof. Komarudin. Prof. Komarudin said that the synergy between FIS UNJ, Leipzig University (Germany), and Brawijaya University is an international collaboration in building an internationalization ecosystem as an effort to make UNJ a world reputation and UNJ’s commitment to the MBKM program (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka).
“Hopefully this program can continue to be established and the UNJ leadership will support international cooperation programs, both in the form of the MBKM program and the vision of UNJ with a world reputation,” hoped Prof. Komarudin.
