UNJ COMMUNICATION SCIENCE STUDENT WINS SILVER MEDAL AT ASEAN UNIVERSITY GAMES 2024

This year, Indonesia is again hosting the 2024 ASEAN University Games (AUG) which will be held from June 25, 2024 to July 6, 2024 in East Java. AUG itself is an event for every university in ASEAN countries to show off their sports talents.

AUG involves approximately 5000 student athletes throughout ASEAN with venues spread across nine locations in Surabaya and Malang. At this year’s AUG, Indonesia managed to become the overall champion of AUG 2024. Indonesia managed to get 100 gold medals, 79 silver medals and 53 bronze medals.

Pangeran Rafly Priatama, an undergraduate student of Communication Studies, won a silver medal for Indonesia. Rafly dropped in the Karate Sports Branch with the Men’s Kumite Above 84 kg number. The Coordinator of Communication Science Study Program, Dr. Dini Safitri S.Sos, M.Si, CPR gave a response about the achievement.
“Congratulations to Prince for his achievement in the international non-academic competition. Hopefully it can be balanced between non-academic and academic achievements,” said Dini.
