Undergraduate of Communication Science UNJ Explores Global Academic Opportunities Through FISH General Lecture

Jakarta, 8 July 2026Undergraduate Communication Science Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) participated in an international General Lecture organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) in collaboration with Chirchik State Pedagogical University (CSPU), Republic of Uzbekistan. Carrying the theme “Strengthening Global Academic Partnerships through Education, Research, and Community Engagement,” the event provided students and lecturers with valuable insights into international higher education while introducing various opportunities for academic collaboration between Indonesia and Uzbekistan.

The General Lecture featured distinguished speakers from Chirchik State Pedagogical University (CSPU) and Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, who shared perspectives on Uzbekistan’s higher education system and its growing commitment to international cooperation. Throughout the session, participants gained insights into government initiatives that expand access to higher education, including tuition policies, student mobility programs, and institutional partnerships that support global academic engagement.

One of the key highlights of the lecture was Uzbekistan’s commitment to ensuring equal access to higher education through policies that provide free university education for women. Participants also learned about the country’s flexible tuition payment system, which allows students to complete their tuition payments upon graduation. In addition, the speakers introduced student exchange opportunities that remain widely available for international applicants, encouraging students to pursue global learning experiences.

Beyond student mobility, the session emphasized opportunities for collaboration through joint research, online teaching, and other academic initiatives between universities. These partnerships are expected to foster knowledge exchange, strengthen institutional cooperation, and create broader opportunities for students and lecturers to participate in international academic activities.

The Coordinator of the Undergraduate Communication Science Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR, emphasized the importance of international collaboration in expanding academic opportunities. “Activities like this broaden the perspectives of both students and lecturers while opening opportunities for academic collaboration, student mobility, and international learning experiences,” she stated.

Students participated enthusiastically throughout the General Lecture, actively engaging with the speakers during the discussion session and demonstrating a strong interest in the international opportunities presented. The event broadened their global perspectives while encouraging them to explore future academic collaborations, student exchange programs, and opportunities for further study abroad. Through initiatives such as this, Undergraduate of Communication Science continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization by providing meaningful global exposure for students, expanding academic partnerships, and fostering sustainable cross-cultural collaboration.
