Solo, October 11, 2024 – A group of 120 students from the Class of 2021 Communication Science undergraduate program at Jakarta State University (UNJ) visited Solopos Media Group in Solo, Central Java, on October 10, 2024. This visit is part of the Field Study Program (KKL) series, aimed at providing students with firsthand experience of the dynamics within the media industry.
Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of the Communication Science program at UNJ, expressed her appreciation to Solopos Media Group in her remarks. “We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome from Solopos Media Group. This visit broadens our students’ perspectives on the latest developments in the media industry,” said Dr. Dini.
Furthermore, Dr. Dini highlighted future collaboration opportunities. “We hope this visit will open doors for UNJ Communication Science students to pursue careers or collaborate with Solopos Media Group in the future,” she added.
Solopos Media Group is known as one of the media institutions authorized to issue professional certifications in the field of communication. Addressing this, Dr. Dini shared her aspirations, “Currently, the available certification is only for junior-level Public Relations. We hope that in the future, our students will be able to obtain a wider range of professional certifications in various communication fields.”
This visit not only provided insights into news production processes and media management but also sparked discussions on technological advancements in the media industry and career opportunities in the field of communication. This activity demonstrates the commitment of UNJ’s Communication Science undergraduate program in preparing its students for the workforce by providing direct exposure to the media industry.
