UNJ Communication Science Students 2021 Benchmarking to UNS: Strengthening Collaboration Between Higher Education Institutions

Solo, October 9, 2024 – The Bachelor’s Program in Communication Science at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) conducted a benchmarking visit to the Bachelor’s Program in Communication Science at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Surakarta, Central Java, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. The visit, which involved 120 students from UNJ’s 2021 Communication Science cohort, was part of the Field Study (KKL) program and aimed at expanding knowledge and building networks between higher education institutions.

The Head of UNJ’s Communication Science Program, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the warm reception from UNS. “We are very grateful to FISIP UNS for welcoming our students. We hope this visit marks the beginning of ongoing collaboration in the academic and communication fields,” stated Dr. Dini.

The UNJ delegation received a warm welcome from UNS’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), represented by the Dean, Dr. Didik Gunawan Suharto, S.Sos., M.Si. In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Didik emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions.  

“FISIP UNS continuously strives to optimize cooperation with various institutions, organizations, and companies, both domestically and internationally. This benchmarking with UNJ’s Communication Science program is a concrete example of that effort,” said Dr. Didik.

During the visit, UNJ students received comprehensive presentations from lecturers and heads of UNS’s Communication Science program. The presentations covered five concentration areas offered by UNS: Advertising, Video, Journalism, Radio, and Public Relations.
