S-1 Communication Science UNJ Hosts Inauguration and National Working Meeting of the Dosen Doktor Indonesia (DDI) 2025-2029

The S-1 Communication Science at Universitas Negeri Jakarta hosted the inauguration and the national working meeting of the Dosen Doktor Indonesia (DDI) for the 2025-2029 term. The event took place in the Bung Hatta Hall, Pascasarjana Building, Campus A, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks from the Chairperson of  the inauguration and the national working meeting of the Dosen Doktor Indonesia (DDI), Dr. drh. Rahmat Hidayat, S.KH., M.Si., MH., and the Elected Chairperson of the Dosen Doktor Indonesia (DDI) 2025-2029 period, Dr. Roza Mulyadi, SE., Ak., M.Akt. Representing Universitas Negeri Jakarta, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Dr. Elisabeth Nugrahaeni P., M.Si., conveyed hopeful remarks regarding the crucial role of the Dosen Doktor Indonesia (DDI) Association in advancing the Communication Science Study Program and higher education in Indonesia.

The Coordinator of the S-1 Communication Study Program of UNJ, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR, also delivered her statement. She said, “Our warmest congratulations to the newly inaugurated board members of DDI. We, from the S-1 Communication Study Program of Universitas Negeri Jakarta, hope that in the future there will be an even closer collaborative cooperation between DDI and our study program, especially in the fields of research, community service, and faculty career development.”

The main session of the event presented two outstanding speakers in the field of communication. The first speaker, Dr. Fitria Widiyani Roosinda, S.Sos., M.Si., delivered a comprehensive talk on the essence of public communication. She emphasized four crucial elements in public communication, first, the message to deliver content which must be clear, relevant, and have a measurable objective. Second, communicator & communicant. The effectiveness of communication greatly depends on the credibility of the communicator and the communicant’s understanding of the message. Third, the media. Choosing the right media plays a significant role in reaching the audience and delivering the message effectively. Fourth, method. Strategies and techniques in message delivery are key to the success of public communication.

The second speaker, Dr. Kinkin Yuliaty Subarsa Putri, M.Si., a lecturer from the S-1 Communication Science Study Program at UNJ, provided an in-depth perspective on political communication in the public sphere in the digital era. She emphasized the importance of optimizing the public space as a shared asset, not solely dominated by certain media owners. Dr. Kinkin Yuliaty Subarsa Putri M.Si. also encouraged lecturers and academics to actively contribute to creating a healthy, inclusive, and empowering public space.

This session was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from attendees who posed various questions and shared their perspectives on the presented material. The constructive discussion further enriched the understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the current communication landscape.

The event included the inauguration of the new administrators of the Dosen Doktor Indonesia (DDI). Among them was a lecturer from the S-1 Communication Science UNJ, Dr. M. Fikri Akbar, M.Si., M.M. Fikri expressed his hope that through this National Working Meeting, DDI can formulate strategic, innovative, and collaborative work programs, thereby making a tangible contribution to the development of communication studies, the improvement of higher education quality, and the empowerment of doctoral lecturers throughout Indonesia. The spirit of togetherness and the strong vision of the new administrators are expected to lead DDI towards a bright future and have a positive impact on the nation and the state.
