Jakarta, July 15, 2025 – The Undergraduate Communication Science Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as a strategic step in developing the study program, particularly in formulating and strengthening the Master’s Program in Communication Science. The event took place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Dean’s Meeting Room of FISHUM UNJ and began at 3:00 PM local time (WIB).

This FGD was a follow-up to intensive communication between the Communication Science Program at UNJ and Associate Professor Dr. Nik Adzrieman Abdul Rahman from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) via WhatsApp. This cross-country discussion aimed to explore curriculum design and strategic development of a Master’s program that is both adaptive and competitive.
In her remarks, the Coordinator of the Communication Science Program at FISH UNJ, Dr. Dini Safitri, M.Si., expressed her appreciation for Prof. Nik’s visit and warmly welcomed the potential collaboration ahead. She stated, “The Undergraduate Communication Science Program at UNJ is very pleased to welcome Prof. Nik, as we look forward to establishing collaboration in faculty and student exchange, joint research, and community engagement activities with the academic community at UUM.”
The FGD was attended by the leadership of FISHUM UNJ, including the Dean, Firdaus Wajdi, M.A., Ph.D; Vice Dean I, Dr. Kurniawati, M.Si; Vice Dean II, Dr. Aris Munandar, M.Si; and Vice Dean III, Dr. E. Nugraheni P, M.Si. In addition, the event also involved all permanent faculty members of the Communication Science Program, namely Dr. Dini Safitri, M.Si; Dr. Kinkin Yuliaty SP, M.Si; Dr. Vera Wijayanti Sutjipto, M.Si; Dr. Maulina Larasati P, M.I.Kom; Dr. Marisa Puspita Sary, M.Si; Dr. Wiratri Anindhita, M.Sc; Nada Arina Romli, M.I.Kom; Dr. M. Fikri Akbar, M.Si., M.M; and Sandy Allifiansyah, M.A., Ph.D. The discussion also welcomed two newly appointed civil servant lecturers (CPNS), Mega Ayu Permatasari, M.Si, and Noprita Herari, M.I.Kom.

This FGD serves as concrete evidence that the Communication Science Program at UNJ continues to strengthen its position as a center for communication education that is responsive to the dynamics of the times, globally oriented, and grounded in strong academic values.
