S-1 Communication Science UNJ Helds Guest Lecture on “From Campus to Industry: English Communication Skills for Career Preparation”

Jakarta, October 9, 2025 — S-1 Communication Science UNJ, under the Professional Image course led by Dr. Wiratri Anindhita, M.Sc., held a guest lecture featuring Dwi Linda Kusuma as the speaker. Carrying the theme “From Campus to Industry: English Communication Skills for Career Preparation,” the session aimed to strengthen students’ English communication competence as part of their professional readiness.

During the session, Dwi Linda Kusuma shared practical strategies for mastering workplace communication, highlighting the importance of self-confidence, adaptability, and professionalism in entering the global job market. The discussion also emphasized how English fluency supports career advancement and helps students navigate diverse professional environments.

During the session, Dwi Linda Kusuma emphasized the importance of mastering verbal, written, and non-verbal communication, along with developing cross-cultural understanding essential skills for effective communication in global work environments. She also explained how English plays a vital role in professional growth, especially in multinational companies where adaptability, clarity, and politeness matter.

The Coordinator of the S-1 Communication Science Program, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., expressed her appreciation “The presence of lecturers from other study programs engaging in activities outside their own study programs is a positive thing because it allows them to share different knowledge and experiences with students from those study programs. Cross-study program learning began to be promoted since the MBKM activity was initiated, which was followed by an impactful program from the next minister. Lectures in this professional image also strive to apply the program.”

This guest lecture serves as a bridge between academic learning and industry practice, encouraging students to enhance their professional image and communication capabilities to face real-world challenges after graduation.
