Lecturers and Students of the Communication Science Undergraduate Study Program participated as the Committee and Participants of the HISPISI 2024 Event

Monday, October 28, 2024 – The Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University hosted the National Seminar of the Indonesian Social Sciences Education Graduates Association (HISPISI) which was held on Monday, October 28, 2024. In this series of events, students and lecturers of the Communication Studies Program were part of the participants and also the organizing committee of the event.

The National Seminar of the Indonesian Social Sciences Education Scholars Association (HISPISI) carries a relevant theme and has an appeal that adapts to the momentum related to the presence of a new leader in Indonesia, the theme of this seminar is “New Government and Hope for Building National Sovereignty and Independence”. The Seminar or HISPISI 2024 activity presents big names who are appointed as keynote speakers, including the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology represented by Prof. Dr. Ahamad Fauzan as Deputy Minister, Prof. Komarudin as Chairperson of HISPISI and Chancellor of UNJ, Prof. Hariyono, M.Pd as Chancellor of Malang State University, Prof. Dr. Agus Mulyana, M.Hum as Dean of FPIPS UPI, Afriva Khaidir, Ph.D as Dean of FIS UNP, Firdaus Wajdi, Ph.D as Dean of FIS UNJ. This session was moderated by Dr. Yuyus Kardiman, M.Pd as the Coordinator of the S1 PPKN FIS UNJ Study Program.

In addition to the keynote speaker, HISPISI 2024 also presented speakers from big names such as the dean of LPTKN, including Dr. Wiwik Sri Utami, M.P as the Dean of FISIP UNESA, Dr. Ratih Baiduri, M.Si as the Dean of FIS Unimed, and Dr. Zuchri Abdussamad, M.Si as the Dean of FIS Universitas Negeri Gorontalo moderated by Dr. Kurniawati, M.Pd as the Deputy Dean I of FIS UNJ.
This activity began with an activity report read by the Dean of FIS UNJ, namely Firdaus Wajdi, Ph.D. He reported that this seminar was held to collect the best ideas and contributions in the academic field delivered by speakers as keynote speakers and panelists in order to support the new government.
On the same occasion, a welcoming speech was given by Prof. Komarudin as the Chancellor of UNJ and also the Chairperson of HISPISI to open the event. In his welcoming speech, Prof. Komarudin stated that the sovereignty and independence of the nation are our great hopes together. Then he continued, Since the 1980s, Indonesia has become a respected country because of its political sovereignty and independence that has almost reached its peak. Participants, the Committee, and all individuals who took part in the HISPISI 2024 activities hope that the new government can continue the ideals and spirit of the nation’s founders to build sovereignty and independence.

Next, this activity began according to the existing rundown of activities. Each keynote speaker has filled and provided views in the seminar session that day. Then the event was closed with an online panel discussion session via Zoom Meeting with speakers from several LPTKN, namely Dr. Wiwik Sri Utami, M.P as Dean of FISIPOL UNESA, Dr. Ratih Baiduri, M.Si as Dean of FIS Unimed, and Dr. Zuchri Abdussamad, M.Si as Dean of FIS Universitas Negeri Gorontalo moderated by Dr. Kurniawati, M.Pd as Deputy Dean I of FIS UNJ..

Coordinator of the Communication Science Study Program Dr. Dini Safitri, M.Si gave a response about HISPISI 2024 which was held on October 28, 2024 in a hybrid manner at Zoom Meeting and the 3rd Floor of the UNJ GOR Building.

“After successfully holding an event in collaboration with RRI, the UNJ Communication Science Undergraduate Study Program was asked by the Dean to help organize this activity with lecturers and Communication Science Undergraduate students who were both committee members and seminar participants.
