Semarang, October 8, 2024 – Communication Science students from Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), Class of 2021, conducted an educational visit to PT. Victoria Care Indonesia (Omah Herborist) in Semarang. This visit is part of the Field Study Program (KKL) organized by the UNJ Communication Science Department to enhance students’ practical understanding of industry processes in the workplace.
“This year’s UNJ Communication Science Field Study Program also includes industry visits to companies outside of direct communication fields, as some roles in these industries are indeed suited for communication graduates, like at PT. Victoria Care. During this visit, students gained practical insights into corporate communication,” explained Dr. Dini Safitri, Coordinator of the UNJ Communication Science Department.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into PT. Victoria Care Indonesia’s operations, from the production stages to the marketing strategies that drive the Herborist brand. Students were also given a tour of the production facilities, witnessing firsthand the creation of body and beauty care products, produced to high-quality standards with a focus on natural ingredients.
“This visit has been incredibly beneficial for us as communication students, providing a more comprehensive understanding of how the company communicates with consumers and maintains its brand image through innovative production and effective marketing practices,” said one of students
The Field Study Program not only aims to expand students’ theoretical knowledge but also to offer hands-on experience relevant to the communication industry, particularly in observing marketing and corporate communication strategies up close. This experience is expected to help students better understand and apply the theories learned in class to real-world contexts.
The visit concluded with a Q&A session between students and representatives of PT. Victoria Care Indonesia, offering students an opportunity to delve deeper into various business aspects involving communication, from branding to consumer relations.
This visit is one of the initiatives by the UNJ Communication Science Department to provide students with deeper practical communication insights and to broaden their perspectives on career opportunities across different industries.
