Strengthened Synergy between the FISH UNJ Communication Science Study Program and Industry through Employer Meeting 2026

Jakarta, January 27, 2026 — The Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), held an Employer Meeting themed “Bridging the Gap: Synergy between Academics and Practitioners in Producing Adaptive FISH Graduates in the Digital Era” on Tuesday (January 27) at Syafei Building, 8th Floor, UNJ.

This event served as a strategic forum bringing together the academic community of FISH UNJ and industry partners from various sectors, including government institutions, companies, and educational organizations. The forum aimed to align higher education curricula with labor market demands, particularly in addressing the challenges of the digital era.

The Communication Science Program actively participated in this event through the presence of the Program Coordinator, Dr. Dini Safitri, M.Si., along with several other Communication Science lecturers. This involvement reflects the program’s commitment to improving the quality of education based on industry needs and technological developments.

In their presentations, faculty leaders emphasized the important role of study programs in developing adaptive and relevant curricula. The Communication Science Program of FISH UNJ continues to develop high-demand flagship programs oriented toward strengthening students’ competencies in communication research, journalism, public relations, advertising, social media management, public speaking, negotiation, strategic planning, and communication management.

In addition, the Communication Science Program has completed the development of an updated curriculum aligned with industry requirements and supportive of the program’s accreditation process. Through this initiative, graduates are expected to have strong competitiveness and the ability to adapt to the dynamics of the digital-era workforce.

In her presentation, the Vice Dean III of FISH UNJ, Dr. E. Nugrahaeni P., M.Si., stated that collaboration between universities and industry partners is key to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also ready to enter the professional world.

The Employer Meeting also featured discussion sessions, the signing of cooperation agreements, and curriculum evaluations based on feedback from graduate users. The outcomes of this forum will serve as strategic references for the Communication Science Program in improving its learning processes in the future.

Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., Coordinator of the Communication Science Program at UNJ, stated,

“The Employer Meeting is organized as a platform for collaboration between higher education institutions and the professional world to strengthen synergy in developing graduate competencies. Through this forum, the academic community can engage in direct dialogue with industry stakeholders to understand workforce needs, future skill trends, and opportunities for sustainable collaboration. In this activity, the Undergraduate Communication Science Study Program received valuable input from invited participants, particularly in bridging theory and practice, so that the curriculum developed at the university becomes increasingly relevant to the dynamics of the professional world. In addition, the Employer Meeting also serves as a means to build professional networks, expand opportunities for internships, applied research, and recruitment, while strengthening a shared commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.”

Through active participation in Employer Meeting 2026, the Communication Science Program of FISH UNJ reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation, strengthening networks with industry partners, and producing competent, adaptive, and globally competitive graduates.
