
Jakarta, 13 January 2026 — Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), represented by the Undergraduate Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH UNJ), conducted an official visit to Shinawatra University, Thailand, on 13 January 2026. This visit was part of UNJ’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international academic cooperation and enhance the global implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the fields of communication, community engagement, and capacity building.

The activity underscored the commitment of the Undergraduate Communication Science Study Program FISH UNJ to expanding its international academic footprint through strategic partnerships with overseas higher education institutions.

A key agenda of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA/IA) between the Communication Science Study Program FISH UNJ and Shinawatra University. The agreement serves as a formal basis for future collaboration in academic exchange, joint research, and international community service programs (PKM), while also reinforcing institutional trust and long-term partnership. In conjunction with the academic visit, two International Community Service Programs (PKM) were carried out as part of the collaboration.

The first PKM activity, conducted under the MoA framework, was led by Dr. Kinkin Yuliaty SP, M.Si., with team members Dr. Elisabet Nugrahaeni P., M.Si., Maulina Larasati Putri, M.I.Kom., Vera Wijayanti Sutjipto, S.Sos., M.Si., and Marisa Puspita Sary, M.Si. This program focused on strengthening media literacy awareness, addressing algorithmic bias, and enhancing resilience against disinformation through participatory and contextual learning approaches.
The second PKM activity was chaired by Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., supported by Dr. M. Fikri Akbar, M.Si., M.M., Nada Arina Romli, M.I.Kom., Noprita Herari, M.I.Kom., and Mega Ayu Permatasari, M.Si. This activity emphasized ethical leadership and digital communication as instruments for community empowerment, particularly in cross-cultural and international contexts.

Both PKM activities involved lecturers, students, and academic community members from Shinawatra University, fostering mutual knowledge exchange and collaborative learning. Through this international collaboration, the Undergraduate Communication Science Study Program FISH UNJ continues to enhance its global reputation and reaffirm its role in promoting socially responsive and internationally relevant communication practices. The partnership with Shinawatra University is expected to contribute to the development of sustainable international programs, joint initiatives, and broader academic networking in the future.
