Jakarta, June 18 2026 – Undergraduate Communication Science students from Universitas Negeri Jakarta batch 2025 held a cultural event titled RAYANTARA as their final project for the Komunikasi Lintas Budaya course. Held at the Pascasarjana Building Auditorium, Campus A UNJ, on June 9, 2026, the event was attended by Undergraduate Communication Science UNJ lecturers, Dr. Aris Munandar, M.Si., as the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, family members, and relatives of the students who supported the event.
With the tagline “Unite in Diversity, Inspire the World,” RAYANTARA aims to strengthen the awareness of Undergraduate Communication Science students regarding cross-cultural issues and demonstrate how communication can serve as a bridge to unite differences, while also serving as a platform for student collaboration in responding to diversity through performing arts.
The Coordinator of Communication Science, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., expressed her opinion, “The Intercultural Communication course has consistently succeeded in producing cultural art performances that showcase diverse traditions as the final project of its project-based learning approach. It continues to serve as a valuable learning experience for first-year students in organizing events and fostering collaboration among their peers.”
Each group of Undergraduate Communication Science students at UNJ was given the freedom to develop their own concepts independently, from cultural research to performance preparation. In addition, the students were responsible for managing various aspects of the event, including creative concepts, visual design, publications, documentation, logistics, and stage production. The event concluded with a collaborative cultural performance by all participants, followed by a group photo session.
Through RAYANTARA, students are expected to gain a deeper understanding of cultural diversity, strengthen intercultural communication skills, and become agents of unity who can inspire positive change in an increasingly interconnected world.
