Jakarta, 9 November 2025 — S-1 Communication Science Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) participated in strengthening academic collaboration as Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., Lecturer and Coordinator of the program, delivered a guest lecture on “Fundamentals of Digital Journalism” at the Communication Science Study Program of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa). The session, attended by around 40 students, highlighted UNJ’s commitment to advancing communication science and expanding inter-university partnerships.
In her presentation, Dr. Dini explained the rapid transformation of journalism in the digital era, noting that journalists must balance speed, accuracy, and ethical responsibility. She emphasized that technological advancement demands not only fast information delivery but also integrity in verifying facts amid growing misinformation.
Dr. Dini also underlined the importance of media convergence, stating that journalists today must master multiple content formats, from text and photos to video and audio, to effectively engage diverse audiences.
“Digital journalism requires both agility and accountability. Journalists must adapt to new platforms while maintaining ethical standards and serving the public interest,” she said.
Beyond technical competencies, she encouraged students to strengthen their ethical awareness as misinformation and disinformation become increasingly complex challenges in the digital landscape.
The guest lecture was delivered in an interactive atmosphere, with students actively asking questions and engaging in discussions. The activity also reinforced academic collaboration between UNJ and Unesa through knowledge exchange and professional insight.
This initiative demonstrates the active role of UNJ’s S-1 Communication Science lecturers in supporting digital media literacy and addressing contemporary communication challenges at the national level.
