
Jakarta, November 20, 2025 — Undergraduate Communication Science UNJ held an International Cultural Exchange Collaboration with the National Research University – Higher School of Economics (HSE University), Russia, through an interactive online discussion session.
The meeting began with opening remarks from Dr. Kinkin Yuliaty SP, M.Si., Lecturer of Undergraduate Communication Science UNJ, and Prof. Tatyana Permyakova from HSE University. Both expressed their appreciation for the realization of this cross-cultural forum and emphasized the importance of international dialogue in broadening students’ perspectives. Following the opening session, the lecturers provided instructions regarding the activity flow, objectives, and communication guidelines for the collaboration.

As the main agenda, students from both universities were divided into five breakout rooms to engage in structured Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Each breakout room included representatives from UNJ and HSE University, fostering balanced and inclusive exchanges. The discussions covered various cultural themes, such as daily habits, public transportation, traditional customs, and national independence celebrations, allowing students to share personal insights, cultural observations, and reflections on life in Indonesia and Russia.
The session concluded with selected student representatives sharing their reflections, impressions, and messages about the collaboration. Many noted that the exchange not only broadened their understanding of cultural diversity but also strengthened academic ties between the two institutions. Participants expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue in the future.

The Coordinator of Undergraduate Communication Science UNJ, Dr. Dini Safitri, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR., stated, “Alhamdulillah, the collaborative class between the S-1 Communication Science Program and HSE University in the Communication Theory course has been successfully conducted. Insya Allah, similar collaborative classes with HSE will take place with different courses in the upcoming semester. We extend our gratitude to the course lecturers and students who actively participated in this collaboration.”
This International Cultural Exchange Collaboration is expected to offer students valuable international exposure while reinforcing academic relations between Universitas Negeri Jakarta and HSE University. Through ongoing intercultural dialogue, both institutions aim to foster global understanding, cultural appreciation, and sustainable collaborative networks.
