Jakarta, May 11, 2025 – Marking the significance of digital literacy in today’s writing and educational spheres, the Communication Science Study Programme Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) in collaboration with Asosiasi Guru Penulis Nasional (AGUPENA), hosted Rapat Koordinasi Nasional (RAKORNAS) and a dedicated writing seminar. This timely event, coinciding with Hari Pendidikan Nasional (HARDIKNAS) celebrations, took place in the Ruang Serbaguna FISH UNJ, highlighting the crucial need for digital literacy skills.
The seminar and meeting garnered substantial interest, attracting a large number of teachers and lecturers from various regions across Indonesia. The discussions were enriched by the presence of prominent national experts, including Prof. Dr. Fasli Djalal, Ph.D., former Indonesian Deputy Minister of National Education and now Chair of AGUPENA’s Central Advisory Council; Drs. H.A. Sholeh Dimyathi, MF, MA, an accomplished author and education champion; Muhammad Ardy Ali, the National Head of AGUPENA Indonesia; and the beloved national storyteller of AGUPENA, Mami Kiko.
Expressing his enthusiasm and pride in the partnership with AGUPENA, Firdaus Wajdi, MA, Ph.D., Dean of FISH UNJ, underscored the faculty’s ongoing commitment to promoting the growth of literacy and innovation in writing, especially in the current digital era. The involvement of Dr. Dini Safitri, M.Si., a S-1 Communication Science lecturer at FISH UNJ and the Secretary-General of AGUPENA, further strengthened the collaborative efforts between the university and the association in advancing digital literacy. Dr. Dini Safitri, M.Si., also took the stage as a speaker at the digital writing seminar, where she presented best practices for e-book creation within the Integrated Communication Technology course. A highlight of her presentation was the showcase of e-books produced by UNJ’s Communication Studies students. The audience’s applause underscored the innovative approach of her teaching methods and the engaging output of the students.
A highlight of the event was the special appearance of national storyteller Mami Kiko, who delivered inspiring tales designed to cultivate a love for reading from a young age, adding a distinctive and engaging element to a program filled with academic insights and practical takeaways. Through this significant event, FISH UNJ demonstrated its continued support for educational and empowering initiatives aimed at the academic and educator communities, ultimately contributing to the advancement of national education.
