
Muhammad Raflino, S-1 Communication Science student of Universitas Negeri Jakarta batch 2024, became one of the participants in the International Student Mobility 2025 program organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UIN Jakarta. This program was held on May 13-18, 2025 by visiting three Southeast Asian countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
In addition to increasing insight into global knowledge directly, this program aims to increase the active role of students in international activities, as well as establish relationships between students across countries.
In this program, participants learn the local language and culture in each country, including local customs, government systems, food, and local norms and rules. Activities also included visits to top campuses in each country such as the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), along with discussions and experience-sharing sessions with lecturers and students from those campuses.
“From this experience, I gained a lot of knowledge and insights, from local culture and language to information about top campuses in the world,” said Raflino.
Raflino added, the selection process in the form of tests to join this program is quite strict and is only intended for UIN Jakarta students. While participants from other campuses such as Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) and Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) through the invitation path. However, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) Universitas Negeri Jakarta, itself requires students who want to join this program to have a passport, TOEFL/IELTS certificate, and pay half of the total cost.
Raflino hopes that his experience for approximately one week can be one of the real efforts he can make to realize a more advanced Indonesia. He invites friends within the scope of the study program and campus to not hesitate to actively participate in international activities.
