
S-1 Communication Science UNJ students attended a seminar held by the History Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Collaborating with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, the Seminar with the theme “Pancasila Solusi Perdamaian Dunia: Perspektif Humanis dan Kebudayaan” was held to celebrate Pancasila Day which falls on June 2. Taking place in Latief Hendraningrat Hall, Dewi Sartika Building, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, the seminar began with a speech by the rector of Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Si, then officially opened by the Director General of Culture and Tradition Protection, Dr. Restu Gunawan, M. Hum representing the Minister of Culture, Dr. Fadli Zon, M.Sc.
The event was filled with warm conversations by three speakers, the first was Yudi Latief, M.A., Ph.D, as the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) who explained how the values of Pancasila can be used as a form of creating world peace. The second speaker was Dr. Ngatawi Al Zastrow, S.Ag., M.si, as a culturalist who discussed cultural immunity as the basis of cultural resilience in global relations. Finally, Mrs. Olivia Zalianty as a public figure who is familiar with the younger generation, explained about the phenomenon of Pancasila among the younger generation. Ms. Olivia also showed her ability in the field of art, by reciting poetry and showing musical arrangements for Pancasila.
The seminar continued with a question and answer session given to the three fastest questioners and ended with a certificate awarding session to the three speakers. The Coordinator of the UNJ S-1 Communication Science expressed her hope, “Hopefully by participating in this activity, the students of the UNJ S-1 Communication Science Study Program will have more nationalism and practice the values of Pancasila in their daily lives.”
